<![CDATA[On Cue Fitness - Blog]]>Sun, 20 May 2012 10:13:32 -0800Weebly<![CDATA[Deep Fried Kool-Aid?]]>Thu, 23 Jun 2011 07:44:56 -0800http://oncuefitness.com/1/post/2011/06/deep-fried-kool-aid.htmlSo while reading different articles, I came across this one. Deep Fried Kool-Aid (http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-624511?hpt=hp_c2). For real? We are spending time and money on studies on the obesity problem.. well for free I just found one of the problems! Have we not realized that deep frying everything is not good for us? Do we not have enough fried food that we now need to deep fry our drinks?

Why? Why? We have such an obesity issue and it is out of control! But yet we continue to creat this stuff. People of the world (ok those who are following this blog) stop the madness. Put down your junk food, pick up health food and get off the couch or chair and MOVE.

What do I need to do to help you?]]>
<![CDATA[Summer Is Here]]>Tue, 21 Jun 2011 08:41:42 -0800http://oncuefitness.com/1/post/2011/06/summer-is-here.htmlWith summer finally here, it is time to go outside and get moving! Summer in Alberta is so short so why not spend the time in the sun. Biking, rollerblading, frisbee, soccer... there is sooo much to do. So to read the article that was in published in the Calgary Harold that is available on-line (I saw this on facebook) makes me really sad. I don't understand why we can't get moving!

<![CDATA[Spring is here!]]>Tue, 05 Apr 2011 05:19:41 -0800http://oncuefitness.com/1/post/2011/04/spring-is-here.htmlThe sun is out, the snow is melting and people are starting to come out doors. Now we are all excited to see the snow leave and now we want to start running out doors or do some bootcamps. Remember, if you have not worked out all winter don't try and do it all at once. Take your time. It is good to start now and get moving, but don't try and do it all at once. Remember, you might be a bit stiff and sore at first, but keep moving! The more you move the better you will be!]]><![CDATA[Welcome to ... Almost Spring]]>Wed, 16 Mar 2011 04:36:20 -0800http://oncuefitness.com/1/post/2011/03/welcome-to-almost-spring.htmlWell it has been a busy few weeks and have not had a chance to update. My new favorite show "Village on a Diet" is now over. I love that show. It was very moving. It really does show what people go through when they are going through the fitness change. I have more energy now from watching them. They were given real tools that they could use when the experts left. And they did continue to lose weight and change eating habits.

Back in Nov 2010 I was part of a group of canfitpro PRO TRAINERS who were invited to be interviewed for a series of fitness articles. Well the wait is finally over! The artical "Are You In a Fitness Funk" was published today on-line. (http://www.canada.com/fitness+funk+Change+things+restore+your+enthusiasm/4446863/story.html)
It is a great article (not just my contribution). So are you or some one you know or even your clients in a fitness funk?

<![CDATA[To Cold to Workout?]]>Fri, 18 Feb 2011 04:22:09 -0800http://oncuefitness.com/1/post/2011/02/to-cold-to-workout.htmlWelcome to the end of the week. It has been awhile since I wrote last. It is very cold, and no let up for the weather in sight. Having to bundle up and warm up the car....... pain in the butt! So the last thing I feel like doing is going out to the gym. So to keep me motivated, I found an instructor & class that I enjoy and committed myself to attend every week. I pack my gym bag the night before and leave it at the back door so when I leave in the morning it comes with me! With the long weekend just around the corner I hope the weather gets warm so I can do some outdoor time.

If you have a topic you want to know more about, let me know!]]>
<![CDATA[What Motivates You!?]]>Mon, 24 Jan 2011 08:04:31 -0800http://oncuefitness.com/1/post/2011/01/what-motivates-you.htmlWelcome to Monday. We are hitting that critical time in our ‘New Years Resolution’ group. Starting around this time is when the gyms begin the “thinning of the heard”. Where the new members start to loose the excitement of working out. Well my friends…. DON’T GIVE UP!

Was your resolution to drop 50lbs by the end of January? Part of this lost of interest was maybe not creating the realistic goals. Loosing 2-3lbs a week is a safe weight. Any more then that can be hard on your body. Remember that it takes time to loose what you have gained. Remember you want to eat throughout the day. Your 3 meals and 3 snacks. Doing this, your body will become accustomed to regular fuel, if not; it thinks you’re starving and will hold onto everything for as long as possible.

Do you have a work-out partner? Someone you can help encourage or at times help to encourage you? That is one key element that everyone should have. There are days when it is really hard to get motivated. Well having that friend pushing you helps… a lot! If you can’t quiet make it through your workout, try a group exercise class! You don’t have to think to hard, there are people to motivate you and some rockin music to motivate you.

So make smart goals, grab a work-out partner and maybe hit a group exercise class!

<![CDATA[Happy Friday ]]>Fri, 21 Jan 2011 06:37:27 -0800http://oncuefitness.com/1/post/2011/01/happy-friday.htmlWell we made it another week. The weather outside is quiet nice. Warmer then it has been, but slushy sidewalks and streets. So remember that while you are out and about, be careful of others. Make sure that your sidewalks are clean and clear. If you have to do some heavy lifting (snow!), then make sure that you are warmed up! I don't mean doing an aerobic class in your front yard, but take a few minutes to get the muscles you will be using ready. A brisk walk, incorporate your arms like a speed walker. Some reaching above your head and to the side. Mimic what you will be doing, but without the shovel and snow. Have a great weekend!]]><![CDATA[First Post!]]>Sun, 16 Jan 2011 17:27:05 -0800http://oncuefitness.com/1/post/2011/01/first-post.htmlWelcome to another snow filled day. It is getting higher and higher. It is that kind of weather that you really don't want to go outside. Studies have shown that it is really easy to just stay indoors and get depressed. FIGHT THE BLUES! Get out and move. Either help your neighbour shovel, hit the mall or come and take a group exercise class.]]>
